For kids who find transitions hard

Screen time that ends the way your child expects.

Pausii is made for young kids with their first iPad or iPhone, and for kids who find it hard to switch from one thing to the next. Every pause comes with a heads-up and a countdown, so nothing ends by surprise.

Why endings are hard

It’s not the screen. It’s the sudden stop.

For many kids, the hardest part of screen time is the moment it ends. A few things make that moment harder than it looks.

Deep focus

When a child is absorbed in a game or show, being pulled out without warning can feel jarring.

Not knowing when

“In a minute” means different things to different people. Uncertainty makes waiting harder.

Not knowing what’s next

Stopping is easier when kids know what they’re moving on to.

Rules that change

When endings work differently each day, kids have more reason to push back.

How Pausii helps

Built around the strategies that make transitions easier

Advance warnings, visual timers and predictable routines are among the most common tips for helping kids move between activities. Pausii builds them into every pause.

A heads-up first

Schedule a pause in 5, 15 or 30 minutes, and your child sees it coming. Screen time never ends by surprise.

A countdown they can see

The time left shows in Pausii, on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, so kids can check without asking.

A clear paused screen

When time is up, the iPad says PAUSED and shows when apps will be back. No guessing, no arguing about the rules.

The same steps every time

Every pause works the same way, every day. Predictable routines help kids feel in control.

A pause, step by step

Tips from families using routines

  • Set it up together. Let your child pick their nickname, alerts and colors, so Pausii feels like theirs.
  • Use the same words. Pick one phrase, like “Pausii says five minutes,” and use it every time.
  • Pair it with your visual schedule. If you use picture cards or a “first, then” board, add a card for the pause.
  • Practice on a calm day. Try a short pause when nothing is at stake, so the first real one feels familiar.
  • Keep promises about “back on.” Resuming on time builds the trust that makes the next pause easier.
