Security & privacy

Pausii works with Apple Screen Time, the protections already built into every iPhone and iPad. Screen Time does the blocking on your child's device. Pausii gives you one tap to use it.

Your phone and your child's device sync through your family's iCloud. Pausii has no servers in between. Pause Your phone break Your child's device Your family's iCloud No Pausii servers

Here is what Pausii keeps, where it keeps it and who can see it

Your family's information stays in your iCloud

The Pausii app has no servers. What it stores lives in your family's own iCloud and on your family's devices.

Omii LLC, the company that makes Pausii, can't see it. Only the parents and child devices you invite can.

No ads, no analytics, no tracking

The app has none of them. Pausii doesn't sell or share your information, and it never sees how long your child spends in an app or which websites your child visits.

Apple hides app names, even from Pausii

When you pick apps to pause, Apple hands Pausii a code instead of the app's name. Pausii can't tell which apps your child has, and neither can we.

Your child's age isn't saved

Pausii never asks for a birthday or saves an age. If you pick an age range during Shield setup, Pausii uses it on that screen to suggest settings and then forgets it.

Parent controls stay with parents

Parent controls open with Face ID and a Pausii PIN you choose.

Your PIN stays on your phone. It isn't synced to iCloud, so your child's device can't see it.

Face ID is handled by Apple. Pausii never sees or stores face data.

A child's device joins only when you invite it

A child's device joins your family only after a parent shows a one-time QR code or sends an invitation link, and Screen Time permission is approved through Apple's Family Sharing.

Task photos are deleted after 7 days

If you ask for a photo to show a task is done, your child takes it with the camera inside Pausii. Only your family sees it, and it's deleted after 7 days. Pausii can't see the rest of your child's photo library.

How we build Pausii

Pausii is made by a dad who spent 20 years in mobile, including several years at mobile security providers.

Every change gets a security review before it reaches families. One of those reviews thinks like a kid trying to get around Pausii, because kids are the most creative testers there are.

Want more control?

Apple's Screen Time is always in Settings > Screen Time, with even more detailed controls. It works alongside Pausii.

Delete everything, any time

Remove a child's device or a parent under Family in Pausii. To delete all your family's Pausii data, go to Settings > your name > iCloud > Storage > Pausii > Delete Data on the Family Organizer's iPhone.

This page covers the app. The pausii.app website and sign-up are covered in our Privacy Policy.

Found a security problem?

Email contact@pausii.app with what you found and how to see it. We read every report, and we'll thank you on this page if you'd like.

Pausii is made by a small company, so we don't offer paid bug bounties. Please test only on your own devices and accounts, never another family's, and give us time to fix a problem before you share it.

Spying vs. pausing

Two ways to handle kids and screens.

Some parental control apps are built to see and hear everything: conversations, messages, photos, locations. That data has to live somewhere, usually on the company's servers. Kids also notice when they're being watched.

There's a better way: keep your family's data in your family, and your kid on your side.

Talk first. Then tap pause.
